"We wanted to do something for the cause in support of our mom who was diagnosed with scleroderma. We love golf, so we rallied our friends and created The Tournament of Non-Champions golf outing that eventually raised $60,000 over 5 years."

Fundraising Tips

  1. Contact your employer to make a matching gift.

    • Many companies have matching gift programs or funds to support fundraising efforts for charities and non-profits, so make sure to check with your employer. When donating on our page, use the email link and help us double our impact!

  2. Use social media.

    • Social media can be a powerful catalyst for change. Posting about your fundraiser, your goals, and your experience with scleroderma is a great way to attract donations and generate awareness for the cause. Make sure use to tag us @gcscleroderma and use the hashtag #StopScleroderma!

  3. Ask loved ones directly.

    • One of the best ways to fundraise is to ask people in a private message. You can send a personal email to friends and family and include your story about why you are passionate about helping scleroderma patients.

  4. Add the fundraising link to your email signature.

    • Corporate employees send hundreds of emails, so you may be surprised about the number of inquiries you will receive about your fundraiser or the charity you are supporting. Have them answer questions or donate directly

  5. Set small, but frequent fundraising goals.

    • Breaking down the total you want to raise into weekly or monthly goals rather than a long-term deadline can help increase the call to action and offer a chance to update everyone on your goals. For instance, raising a tenth of the total amount in a week will appear much more achievable and less daunting than the entire fundraising goal. Also, it will be a great way to see if you are on track!
